Piibe, Esq. who has become an official partner with Ms. Hill. More information about Mr. Piibe may be found on our website listed above. Additionally, to provide better services WE HAVE MOVED and are now in a larger suite on the seventh floor of the same building in Suite 737. INS NO LONGER EXISTS!Pursuant to new law, the INS has been broken up into three agencies which are under the Department of Homeland Security. The three new agencies are: The Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services ("BCIS"), handling immigration benefits such as asylum claims, work permits, green card applications, citizenship applications, and other types of visa applications; the Bureau of Immigration and Customs and Enforcement ("BICE"), handling interior investigation and enforcement, such as detection and removal of criminal aliens, fraud, smuggling and other areas of enforcement; and the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection ("BCBP"), focusing on border patrol and inspections. OFFICE HOURSOur Office is open from 9 AM to 7 PM on Mondays, 9 AM to 6 PM Tuesday thru Friday. Please remember that our Office is closed for lunch between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Without this break, the numerous visitors to our Office would leave our staff with no time for their meal. We appreciate your understanding. Also, please be courteous to our neighbors and do not wait in the hallway outside our door during the lunch break. There is a coffeeshop and a snackshop in the building where you may wait. LATE AMNESTY DEADLINE A FRIENDLY REMINDER ABOUT CHILDRENThis law firm takes great pride in its ability to provide effective and competent legal representations to the many families who retain our services. However, children at the office can often distract their parents and our staff from case preparation. Therefore we ask parents to please make every effort to not bring children to our Offices when it can be avoided. This will help parents concentrate on their case when they are here, and will help our staff concentrate better as well. If children must come, parents are expected to monitor their children at all times. Thank you for your understanding. LONGER LINES AT COURTHOUSE - MAKE SURE YOU ARRIVE EARLYDue to an increased caseload, more immigrants are in the Los Angeles Immigration Court, resulting in long lines at the elevators. Sometimes the wait in line can be as long as 45 minutes to 1 hour. Therefore, arrive at the courthouse in plenty of time to avoid these lines - at least 45 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. Also, the Immigration Court has asked people not to bring family and friends to Court hearings, unless specifically instructed by the Judge or Attorney. OUR WEBSITE HAS A NEW LOOK!Please visit our new website - newly reorganized for our clients' convenience. Although it is still under construction, most portions are functional.
